Cardinal Commerce named Venture of the Year

CardinalCommerce, a Mentor-based fintech firm that was acquired by Visa in December, has been named the 2016 Venture of the Year by the Ohio Venture Association.

Cardinal authenticates payment transactions in what's called the card-not-present payments industry — a channel that's rife with fraud because of the challenges with authenticating its users and transactions. The award was presented on Friday, June 9.
